The Details:
The People & Talent Benefits Analyst will play a key role in managing and overseeing Palomar’s employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate possesses a benefits and accounting background and is passionate about creating a positive employee experience. This position interacts with many individuals at a variety of levels within and external to the organization. The People & Talent Benefits Analyst will report into the Sr. Manager, People & Talent.
What will you do:
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs and COBRA
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulations
- Maintain accurate benefits records and generate reports as needed
- Assist with development and implementation of new benefits programs as needed
- Analyze benefits data to identify trends and make recommendations for program improvements
- Manage the monthly benefits billing process, including verifying carrier invoices, reconciling discrepancies, and coordinating with the finance department to ensure timely payments
- Prepare and post journal entries related to employee benefits
- Coordinate/manage open enrollment periods
- Manage carrier EDI feeds with HRIS system
- ACA Reporting
- Help create and maintain a dashboard of People & Talent related KPI metrics (Power BI)
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of benefits administration experience
- 2+ year of accounting experience preferred
- Experience with benefits administration systems and HRIS platforms, including data management and reporting capabilities
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Teamwork

- Strong verbal and written communication combined with organizational skills

Pay Range: $70,000 – $105,000
The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of similar size and scope. To be compliant with local legislation as well as provide greater transparency to candidates, we disclose salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired job location. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and the opportunity for annual long-term incentive stock grants. In addition, we offer a highly competitive benefits package. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and qualifications, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
