Summer Internship Program Description:

The Palomar Summer Internship Program provides college students and early career professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience with exploring a career in the insurance industry. Summer Interns will be exposed to various tasks and responsibilities within multiple departments at Palomar. As a growing Property & Casualty insurance organization, interns will contribute to meaningful assignments and projects that make an impact on the Palomar’s growth. The program runs from May through September with flexibility on start dates and number of hours worked. 

Palomar Department Opportunities: Interns will have the opportunity to join one department for full 8 week internship with opportunity to expand to 10 weeks.

Primary Location: La Jolla, CA, Edina, Minnesota, Morris Plains, NJ 

Program Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and based in the U.S. 
  • Currently enrolled or recently  graduated. 
  • Minimum of 8 weeks availability to  join the program.
  • Have a passion to grow in a specific department. 
  • Have maintained an exceptional grade point average in college.

  

What to expect day to day

  • Collaboration with fellow Palomar Interns and Team Members
  • Hands on experience within the department
  • Leadership guidance and career growth
  • Exposure to analytical, strategic and tactical responsibilities 
  • Professional Development and Workshops weekly
  • Palomar is a Hybrid work  environment which means we will support a blended approach of working remotely and coming into the office on a regular agreed upon cadence. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. 

Internship Project

At the end of the program, all summer interns will present an overview of their Internship Project(s). The final presentation is an opportunity for interns to share their internship experience with fellow interns and the Palomar Leadership Team.
