The Details: 

We are seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting to join our team.  As a growth-stage company, we are looking for someone that is both able to lead the company’s accounting team and efforts and can roll up their sleeves to contribute individually. The Manager, Corporate Accounting will support the full cycle accounting function with our Corporate Finance team. A successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities and motivate the team in a deadline driven environment. 

What will you do? 

  • Responsible for assigned aspects of the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Finance Team 
  • Support Asst. Controller in management of department. 
  • Full Cycle and Analysis of Accounting process and procedures 
  • Month end close duties, including: 
  • Prepare or approve month-end journal entries 
  • Monthly division/program income statement trend review, including budget variance analysis 
  • Monthly preparation of complex premium and/or claim bordereaux analysis 
  • Management and review of G/L account reconciliations and supporting schedules 
  • Coordinate with external partners and brokers on monthly bordereaux and settlement statements  
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes 
  • Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed. 
  • Assist in efforts to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) requirements 
  • Work with internal audit department and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and testing for year-end audits 
  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit 
  • Manage staff and work allocation, provide ongoing training, setting goals, and maintaining strong employee relationships 
  • Assist in special projects, ad hoc tasks and/or initiatives 

What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – minimum requirement 
  • Progressive experience culminating in 4+ years’ private and/or public industry Accounting Manager experience at a similarly sized company, or comparable 
  • SOX knowledge/experience required for documentation of internal controls 
  • Microsoft Office skills required – Advanced Excel, Intermediate Word, Intermediate Power Point  
  • Extensive accounting software experience  
  • Ability to organize, self-prioritize, and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment with demanding internal and external deadlines  
  • Ability to multi-task between monitored and performed assignments 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Collaborative team player a must 
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus!

Pay Range: $85,000 – $130,000  

The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of similar size and scope. To be compliant with local legislation as well as provide greater transparency to candidates, we disclose salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired job location. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and the opportunity for annual long-term incentive stock grants. In addition, we offer a highly competitive benefits package. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and qualifications, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
