The Details:
This position will be involved in all areas of the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis process. This is an opportunity to do high-level work for a growing and stable publicly traded organization. The right candidate works efficiently, cares about providing insightful analysis, develops cross-functional relationships at all levels, and improves processes.
What will you do? (Job Duties)
- Assist SVP finance in preparation and oversight of multiple aspects of the annual budget;
- Collaborate with various departments to obtain their input and drivers;
- Ensure these inputs/drivers are accurately and completely reflected in budget model;
- Create clear and concise summaries to explain and support the budget.
- Maintain and update the company’s ongoing forecast model based on current trends and actual results;
- Investigate variances to budgets/forecasts and recommend appropriate changes;
- Communicate variances and relevant information to business leaders in a timely and clear fashion;
- Assist in keeping CFO/CEO apprised of current forecast and upside/downside scenarios;
- Maintain comparison of Company’s current forecast to sell-side analysts forecast models and wall street consensus.
- Assist in the implementation and operation of an FP&A software to transition from the current excel-based model.
- Develop methods of forecasting and incorporating new lines of business into the forecast model.
- Lead and mentor the financial analyst.
- Support special projects and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA, CFA or MBA a plus. Five or more years of experience in FP&A with at least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role around the budgeting or forecasting process.
- An insurance background is a big plus but is not required. Must be willing to learn our business in detail and constantly refine understanding as the business evolves.
- Experience in working in a flatter organization touching multiple areas of the business and working with C-level executives is ideal.
- Experience in a high-growth, faster paced environment is ideal.
- Experience selecting, implementing, and/or using a budgeting/forecasting tool is a plus.
