We are Hiring! Director of Technical Product Management

The Details:

Build Systems and Processes: Palomar is seeking a Director of Technical Product Management who is passionate about building the systems powering our innovative insurance products.

Work Cross Functionally: You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working with cross-functional teams and partners to design, build, and roll out systems that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

Lead and Execute: In this role you’ll lead a team by building and executing a roadmap for our technical ecosystem. Working with marketing, underwriting, accounting and operations teams you will support critical processes through the deployment of modern and best-in-class systems.

Partner as a thought leader: Partnerships and the implementation of off the shelf solutions will be a crucial part of delivering, and you’ll be comfortable working with a variety of vendors.

What will you do?:

  • Work with the Chief Technology Officer to establish and manage a technology roadmap
  • Create business cases with key stakeholders to gain executive approval for new products and features
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a direct report team of (5-6) Business Analysts to help them achieve their goals and deliver against the business vision
  • Organize cross-functionally with marketing, underwriting, accounting, operations, and engineering teams to establish business requirements and priorities as well as to test, iterate, and scale products and features
  • Ensure product success by working with key stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies, including training, implementation, launch, and ongoing support
  • Work with the stakeholders and delivery teams to establish and capture metrics to track the performance of technology investments
  • Analyze and use data and metrics to support prioritization and planning
  • Ensure that delivery teams validate and deliver against the objectives of the project and user/customer expectations early and often
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in engineering to manage capacity, resources, and cross-team dependencies

What we are looking for:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Product Management, including delivering complex integrations, migrations, and technical implementations
  • Ability to translate product vision into action by creating business cases, competitive analysis, product assessments, product-market fit, and product differentiation analysis
  • Experience working with customers, clients, partners, and vendors in a product management environment building long-standing relationships
  • Strategic and effective communication skills, using various modalities to inspire, educate, map, influence, and persuade
  • Hands-on experience working in an agile environment supporting fully agile delivery teams, ideally in a Scrum environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, including executive leadership, and manage through indirect influence
  • Proven ability to deliver quality results in a rigorous and dynamic business environment
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and analytical skills
