The Details:
The Claims Adjuster is responsible for reviewing and investigating the validity of a claim to ensure compliance with policy terms and alignment with both customer and company interests.
What will you do:
· In depth understanding of all major crops and policy types through all stages.
· Complete field inspections, reviews, and adjustments by reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins, and appropriately administering company policies.
· Review and evaluate coverage and/or liability.
· Secure and analyze necessary information regarding the investigation of a claim.
· Ensure compliance and application of company and industry standards.
· Knowledge of basic insurance statutes, regulations and compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
· Accurately document, process and transmit loss information to determine potential.
· Works toward the resolution of claims files, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
· Attention to settlements/reserves within prescribed limits and submit recommendations to supervisor for approval.
· Effective communication in keeping all parties up to date with progress updates and outcomes.
· Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
· Follow regulatory and company rules, policies, and procedures.
What we are looking for:
· Excellent communication skills with management, employees, and outsiders.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
· Must hold current CAPP card or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
· 1-3 years of crop adjusting experience required.
· Adjuster’s License or willing to pursue a licensure within six months of hire if required.
· Experience interpreting and analyzing the application of general liability policies, contracts, lease agreements, risk transfer opportunities etc.
· Experience in a work environment that requires collaboration across work groups.
· Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with customers and business partners in a professional manner.
· Ability to prioritize workload and communicate with your team members.
Physical Requirements:
· Continuous and prolonged walking and standing.
· Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to withstand the physical requirements that accompany inspections and investigations: climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching.
· Requires ability to conduct visual inspections.
· Requires work outdoors, in inclement weather conditions.
· Frequent travel.
· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Pay Range: $61,000-$91,000
The above pay range is for all US-based roles based on function and level, benchmarked against companies of similar size and scope. To be compliant with local legislation as well as provide greater transparency to candidates, we disclose salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired job location. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and the opportunity for annual long-term incentive stock grants. In addition, we offer a highly competitive benefits package. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and qualifications, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
