The Details: The Claims Relationship Specialist will report directly to the VP, Claims, and will support the day-to-day processing of new and pending claim assignments. The Claims Relationship Specialist will primarily work with the TPAs along with adjusters, agents, clients, vendors, and partners while managing the FNOL inbox to provide excellent customer experience.  

What will you do?

  • Day to Day processing of new claims (FNOL) assignments
  • Pull Policy documents
  • Review applicable coverages 
  • Follow up on Adjusters pending claims 
  • Answer agent questions and follow up on claims 
  • Review letters for accuracy
  • Respond to all emails in the Claims inboxes
  • Answer agent questions regarding claims and coverages 
  • Day to day processing of FNOL assignments and follow ups on pending claims.
  • Other responsibilities may include reviews of claims processing, pending analysis, and pending management, phone calls to TPA’s, weekly meetings on aged pending, etc. 

What we are looking for:

  • Education/Certification
  • Valid TX adjusters license – the ability to be licensed in other US states within 6 months 
  • 3+ years of Claims handling experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Claims Adjusting experience in investigating commercial/residential property claims, evaluate damages, determine coverage, set accurate loss cost estimates, control the insured’s exposures and losses, manage consultants, and achieve a prompt, fair and equitable settlement according to fair claims handling requirements. 
  • Working knowledge of inland Marine coverages and claims handling including prompt, thorough and fair investigations by obtaining relevant facts to determine coverage, origin, and extent of loss. 
  • Experience with Negotiating settlement of claims with varying complexity and perils.
  • Excellent customer and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels in a claims department.
  • Deep understanding and application of relationship building. 
  • Ability to communicate and discuss claims investigation. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. 
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management, 
  • Technical claims knowledge and strong analytical skills required 
  • High accountability and follow up with TPA Adjusters 
  • May participate in quality assurance file review sessions and serve as a technical resource for less experienced claims personnel. 
  • Will be called upon for catastrophe duty
  • Assign FNOL and handle a pending of Property damage claims
  • Proficiency in maintaining a good rapport with adjusters, agents, clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • High level of organization and attention to detail 
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities 
  • Ability to work independently and within a group setting
  • Must learn quickly as well as be able to multitask
  • Must be motivated and possess a sound work ethic
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and customized programs for claims handling
  • Project Management experience is a plus
