Job Title: Business Development Leader
Primary Location: La Jolla, CA
Palomar. is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Leader (Inside Sales) to build sustained growth for our new Inside Sales department. Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Development, you will lead a team of developing Client Development Managers overseeing the day-to-day activities of the team and providing coaching and insights to hit monthly targets.
As a Business Development Leader, you will help the team navigate and master the sales process. You will provide coaching on inside sales strategies, leverage resources and work cross functionally within our small leadership team to build training and best practices as we develop a successful and sustainable Inside Sales engine.
What You’ll Do At Palomar
Lead. You are responsible for a team of inside sales professionals. Focus on implementing objectives organization’s strategies and values. You’ll find some of best talent to hire and then train them. You will be rewarding great performance and recognizing great work.
Grow. Contribute to the continued growth of Palomar by consistently achieving sales goals, finding creative ways to grow market share and execute strategic forecasting and budget associated with sales activities. Analyze your achievements and constantly be eager to identify prospective clients.
Communicate. Keep open communication channels with top clients, sales management and your team of Client Development Managers regarding sales leads, market challenges and competitive activity. The best part is you will build lasting relationships with clients and key partners.
Coach. Provide hands-on coaching, counseling and training to your team. Partner up with the inside and outside sales reps to actively pursue new business, follow up and help close deals.
What You’ll Need To Join Palomar
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years in a sales role calling on accounts.
- 2+ years in sales management, and previous experience hiring, motivating and managing employees.
- A proven track record of success in B2B sales with experience managing major accounts with a proven track record in leadership required.
- Operational “build” experience (development of best practices and execution)
- Collaborative spirit with the ability to advocate on behalf of PLMR and our customer base
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively partner with internal teams
