Summer Internship Program Description:
The Palomar Product Management Summer Internship Program provides College Students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with exploring a career in the insurance industry. Summer Interns will be exposed to various tasks and responsibilities within the Product Management department at Palomar. As a growing Property & Casualty Insurance company, interns will contribute to meaningful assignments and projects that make an impact on the Palomar’s Product Management department’s growth while being exposed to other departments within the organization. The program runs from May through September with flexibility on start dates and number of hours worked.

Program Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- In junior or senior year, or a recent college graduate, working towards a Bachelor’s degree with an accredited college or university (preferred majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Management, Economics, Finance, or another analytics related field)
- Minimum of 12 weeks availability to join the program.
- Have a passion to grow and develop in Product Management department.
- Have maintained an exceptional grade point average in college.
- Hybrid Work Environment – Ability to work in the office and from your home.
Job Responsibilities: A Product Management summer intern’s job responsibilities may include assisting with:
- Performing rate revision work and rate recommendations to influence profitability for various states and lines of business.
- Designing new products and product features
- Ensuring overall production and profitability goals are met by analyzing key performance indicators and building out monitoring tools.
- Preparing and submitting rate, rule, and form filings for various states and lines.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to develop and implement product strategies
- Organizing historical data and building tools to evaluate and analyze that data
- Creating new coverage forms and ensuring compliance of both new and existing forms.
- Researching competitor rates and products and building comparison documents.

- Palomar is a Hybrid work environment which means we will support a blended approach of working remotely and coming into the office on a regular agreed upon cadence. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Internship Project
Between the 8–10-week mark, all summer interns will present an overview of their Internship Project(s). The final presentation is an opportunity for interns to share their internship experience with fellow interns and the Palomar Leadership Team
